Design*Sponge (one of my favorite blogs!) has a separate guest blog where the Design*Sponge’s proprietress invites her favorite designers, writers and artists to share their thoughts, unique voices and great design finds.
The guest blogger rotates every two weeks. Starting last week the guest blogger has been Rebecca of Moontree Letterpress studio based in Brooklyn NY and her focus is on all sorts of wedding DIY projects from the silkscreen rock poster/wedding invitation below to custom books, invitations, decorations, favors and more…lots of ideas to get inspired by. Enjoy!

Another one for the “Why didn’t they have this when I got married?” file..
Courtesy of the folks at Weddingmapper.com, you can easily create an interactive map of all your relevant wedding spots (reception, ceremony, hotels, airports - you get the idea.)

You can even personalize the map with your picture and a welcome message to your guests! Its not the prettiest thing ever (think google earth with some wedding icons), but it sure gets the job done and would be a nice addition to your wedding website if you have one.

I literally “stumbled” across this site today: http://www.jollybebakery.com.
JollyBe is a small special occassion baker based in Park Slope Brooklyn founded by Ruth Seidler. Ruth has an extensive background as an artist and painting conservator which serves her very well as a cake artist because, wow, look at these cakes!!

These are just a few of the gorgeous designs on the JollyBe Bakery website.
She calls these cakes “Painted Cakes” and according to her website she actually paints with food coloring on rolled fondant.
With this technique, the design possibilities seem literally endless! Of course you’d have to find a local cake vendor equal to Ruth’s talent, which may be no easy task…

Any knottie who has ever visited the dress board knows that www.preownedweddingdresses.com and www.bridecouture.com are excellent places to search for a designer dress for less. But here’s a site I hadn’t heard about until today: http://www.sellyourweddingdress.com/
Inspired by motherhood and the pursuit of selling her own used wedding dress, Allison Purvis, Founder and President started SellYourWeddingDress in 2005. She now runs the full-service site and online store from her home. SellYourWeddingDress continues to grow and attract sellers and buyers from around the world.
