$200 dresses they will never wear again, shoes that hurt their feet in colors that only match said dress, putting up with your endless wedding-talk and bridezilla moments, these are just some of the reasons that you want to thank your bridesmaids with a nice gift for participating in your wedding.

So many of the traditional gift ideas seem self serving, at least they did to me… are those earrings that match your wedding colors really a gift for them or for you? There’s nothing wrong with giving gifts that are meant to be worn or used on the wedding day, but its also a nice touch to give something more personal that has a life beyond the wedding day.

Here are a few ideas…

The new tiny 1GB ipod shuffles ($79) are a great gift for a girl who loves music. Chances are your bridesmaid might already have an ipod, but because the new shuffles are so portable (and cute!) she may appreciate having the smaller option to use at the gym or on a jog.
