About this site...

Welcome brides!

This site was built by a recently married knottie (MrsJeffswife2B) who wanted to make it easier for other south florida knotties to find vendors, and more importantly what other knotties have to say about those vendors. This site is not meant as a replacement for the knot, but rather a supplement.

Why I thought this site was necessary

Currently there is no directory on the knot that shows what vendors are being used (or were used) by which knotties (or even a list of all south florida knotties). This site will associate each vendor review with the knottie that submitted it, so you will be able to click on a vendor in the directory and see which knottie members have used that vendor. It will also automatically link to that knottie's bio. You can also to read knottie reviews and ratings of that vendor.

When you are logged in, you will be able to see a list of all registered knotties, their wedding dates, wedding location and a link to their knot bio. Assuming anyone uses this site, it can eventually become a directory of all south florida knotties past and present! If you love the idea, add the link and logo to your bio!

Here's the code to paste into your bio:
<a href="http://www.southfloridaweddingvendors.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.southfloridaweddingvendors.com/templates/default/images/southfloridalogo.gif" border="0"></a>

If your still not convinced, read on!

So what?

Well, imagine that I wanted to see which knotties used "XYZ florist". To get this information on the knot, I would probably create a post that says "Has anyone used XYZ florist?". I would get some responses, mostly from current brides. This would be useful information, and I could chat with other brides about that florist etc., but wouldn't it be better if I could find out which PAST brides had used that florist? Then I could read their vendor review of that florist and take a look in their bio to see if they had wedding pictures posted to see the that florist's work in action!

Other benefits of registering..

Once you are registered, you can private message other knottie members (no more missing "pages"!), you can add vendors to your "Your links" making it easy to research vendors that look promising and find their information again later.

Suggestions for using this site

If you are bride-to-be, the most only way to link your profile to the vendors you are using is to post a "review". Obviously because you haven't actually had your wedding yet, this will not be a vendor review in the typical sense of the word, so you can simply post something like "I am using this vendor" and add any comments on your experience with them so far. Because you can edit your review at any time, my hope is that after your wedding you would come back to this site and edit that review with more information (like what you would post in your vendor review in your knot bio.)

Past brides can simply copy and paste the vendor reviews from their bio.

Who can post reviews, submit vendors and ratings..

Currently I am limiting contributions to this site to brides only. You must register to submit reviews, ratings and suggest vendors. This way I can review each submission and make sure the information is valid and also can keep vendors from posing as brides. It may seem cumbersome at first, but it is the only way I can think of to maintain the quality of the site. Vendors who wish to be added can contact me via the contact page on the site.

That's it, I hope you find the site useful, of course it will only be useful if you all contribute, so I hope that you will!

Feel free to use the contact form to make suggestions and give feedback.

Happy planning!

Ariana (MrsJeffsWife2B)
